The Riesa Nudeln brand has a strong retail presence across key German retailers, including ALDI, Lidl, Edeka, Rewe, Kaufland, Penny and Netto. The brand holds a leading brand position in central and eastern Germany. The Riesa Nudeln brand tag line is ‘Fur Dich Von Hier’ (meaning from For You From Here) underpinning its strong sustainability credentials with as short as possible distance travelled from farm to fork.

The Company has an annual production capacity of 25,000 tonnes of pasta with the current investment programme set to double its output to 50,000 tonnes. In terms of this investment programme the business has recently commenced the production of Spaetzle, a speciality pasta originating from the Swabian region, and also laminated pasta. It is supplying the German and European market with these speciality pastas.

Biavest Europe Holdings along with his fellow shareholders the Freidler Family believe there is an opportunity to develop a wider Dry Grocery platform in the German and DACH market. The creation of this platform will be achieved through further acquisitions and organic investment.

Based in Killygordon, Donegal, the company was founded in 1998 and employs around 100 people in Ireland and UK. 

BiaVest is the lead investor in Nomadic, a €29m acquisition which completed in November 2021.
